My competence as a Chartered Safety Professional and 32 years in film and TV production is what adds value to your team and will save you time and money

Safety First? A love of storytelling on the screen is how I ended up here in the first place. I have planned and managed film work for high risk action and locations, including gun fights, falls from height, knocking people down with cars, explosions, fires, throwing people off a cliff, work on boats in the sea, stunts and SFX.

As an Operations Executive for the BBC (2012-2024) I was responsible for the readiness and safety of TV and drama studios, outside broadcast facilities, HGV transport, and electromechanical maintenance, property and projects. I have been a leader of nationwide programmes for business continuity and sustainability, and I have been line manager of a team of over 30 managers, supervisors and operators. I understand the challenges of designing and implementing safe systems of work and putting policy into practice, and I know how to help you.

I have produced two short films; Jennifer X (1996) and Bon Voyage (2007). I was part of the original production team who set up a weekly continuing drama and studio facilities for a show now running over 20 years (BBC’s River City 2002-2012), and I remained responsible for authorising construction or change for the standing backlot as Operations Executive. From 1992 - 2002 I was working in production, or as a Location Manager on feature films, network dramas, comedy and children’s drama, commercials and corporates.
